| Clare Brown,
co-owner of Revitalise, has been teaching pilates and
group exercise classes for over 12 years. Her wealth
of experience in the fitness industry spans from group
exercise leader to fitness centre manager to personal
trainer and sports massage therapist as well as pilates
teacher. She has qualifications with STOTT pilates,
RSA, YMCA, LSSM, and Dip. RM. and is a member of Fitness
Professionals and the Guild of Complementary of Practitioners.
For the past 6 years, Clare has specialised in teaching
purely pilates. Having had 3 children during this time,
she has found pilates to be instrumental in maintaining
good posture and quickly returning to her pre-natal
figure. These benefits, in addition to the numerous
others gained by regular pilates, keeps Clare motivated
and always keen to develop her teaching by attending
workshops.
Clare is known for her clear explanations and hands
on approach to teaching ensuring that the participant
understands and performs each move correctly to gain
the maximum benefit from each exercise. Clare incorporates
all of her sports injury knowledge and fitness knowledge
into her classes. Clare also uses small equipment in
her pilates classes such as flex bands, foam rollers,
fitness circles and toning balls which assist with modifications,
and helps to add resistance, focus and variety to classes.
Clare teaches the Stott Method of Pilates, whom she
complete her training with 6 years ago in essential,
intermediate and advanced matwork. You can read about
this method by logging onto www.stottpilates.com. Clare
also teaches pregnancy pilates and holds the YMCA qualifications
in pre and post natal exercise.
Clare teaches pilates classes on:
Mondays 6-9pm, Tuesdays 6-9pm & Thursdays
6-8pm
"I have tried many pilates classes over the years
but never felt I was given enough guidance to hold the
positions correctly and was worried I would damage my
spine. My first class with Clare was completely different
- she explained clearly, demonstrated well and corrected
mistakes sympathetically, so you still felt encouraged
to carry on - Revitalise is excellent' Maggie, retired
head teacher
