What are Power Plates?
POWER PLATE® machines are state-of-the-art devices that deliver a full body workout in just 25 minutes. Perfect for people with a busy lifestyle, POWER PLATES® give you the ability to increase your muscular strength and tone and improve your body shape faster than ever before. Just two or three 30 minute sessions a week will deliver noticeable results in the way you look and feel. Training on the power plates is fun, fast, easy & you can feel it work. All you need is lose comfortable clothing and yourself – no shoes, no shower, no hassle. Half the time, half the effort, TWICE the results.

How do power plates work?
Power Plate® machines vibrate. They use the principle of acceleration training exercise to stimulate the body's natural response to vibration. These vibrations transmit waves of energy throughout the body, activating muscle contractions multiple times per second. This enables the participant to gain profound results in a short space of time. By holding the body in different exercise positions for up to 60 seconds per set, multiple muscle groups are activated simultaneously, resulting in accelerated muscle strength, tone, endurance and flexibility.

The advanced vibration technology concept behind power plate equipment was developed for the Soviet aerospace program in the 1960's, to help cosmonauts combat the weakening effects of zero gravity conditions in space. Power plate has improved this technology to benefit both high performance sports athletes and everyday fitness enthusiasts.

Training on the power plate® enables anyone to benefit, no matter what their fitness ability. It also has the added benefit of stimulating the growth of bone tissue and scientific research has shown power plates can increase bone mineral density helping in the battle against osteoporosis. Working out on a power plate machine stimulates the mind, improves concentration and contributes to the overall feeling of well being; all of which combine to eliminate the effects of stress.

About your Teachers
 
At Revitalise all of our classes are taught in a friendly atmosphere under expert instruction by our Power Plate® certified trainers. They have been carefully selected for their positive caring approach, exercise knowledge and experience, and are trained to ensure that you get the best possible results from your safe & effective workout. Please let your teacher know if you have any injuries or any specific training goals.

Between them, our teachers have a wealth of experience in personal training, group fitness classes, Pilates, yoga, gym instruction, Boxercise, circuits, laser lipo, sports massage & injuries, and nutrition. Each teacher will naturally bring the benefits of their specialist area to your class. We are here to help. Please ask if you would prefer a teacher with a specific area of expertise. Classes can be booked 6 days a week from as early as 8.30am and as late as 8.00pm.

All classes include stretching, toning, core strength & stability and massage. We also use small pieces of equipment in our classes such as hand weights, flex bands, fitness circles and overballs to add variety to the exercises.

We offer beginner, intermediate and advanced power plate classes as follows:


BEGINNER CLASSES

(First class FREE for new clients)

These classes are designed for those new to exercise or with physical restrictions and for clients new to power plate. If you are used to exercise and have a good fitness level, you can go straight from the beginner class onto the intermediate classes. However, if you are new to exercise, or have any physical restrictions, please continue to go the beginner classes until you have built up an adequate level of fitness to increase the time and intensity of your exercises.

ADVANCED CLASSES

All 10am and 7.30pm classes

These classes are faster and harder than intermediate classes and incorporate some cardio exercises raising the heart rate. Not for the faint hearted and you may need a shower after!
 
INTERMEDIATE CLASSES

All other classes are intermediate classes which tone the entire body. You can  join these classes as soon as you find the beginner classes too easy.

Classes are limited to a maximum of 4 giving you extra individual attention

All new participants must fill out a health and fitness questionnaire prior to going on the machines

Pregnant ladies are unable to use the power plates for health & safety reasons

All classes must be booked and paid for in advance

If you are unable to come to a booked class, you must give a minimum of 24 hours or you will forfeit the class

For all courses, classes can be taken at any time however you cannot roll the over to the next month or course

Please arrive 10 minutes early for your first visit to fill out forms & 5 minutes early thereafter to start each session promptly

These classes are half an hour in length. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing.

NB. We will ask you for your card details at the time of your booking to reserve your place. Nothing will be taken from your card at any point unless you do not show. If you book a place and do not show up without cancelling in advance we reserve the right to deduct £10 from you card.
